This unique 19th century Lion House is located in an exclusive Fulham terrace. The main body of the building and its rear wing are carefully extended towards the rear and side in accordance with the historical constraints imposed by its heritage context. Extensive rooflights topping the extensions are utilised to expose newly open, contemporary interiors, capturing abundant natural light and opening carefully sculpted internal openings. An ample basement is connected to the upper levels both visually and physically through light wells, glass floors and staircases, thus opening spaces across levels and creating a flexible and welcoming family home environment.

Pre-Fabricated House Prototype | 94 sq m
In Design 2016
Following the paradigm of Le Corbusier’s Dom-ino house, the FIN HOUSE explores the next level of modularity through modern methods of prefabrication. It is a simple, flexible and adaptable prefabricated house concept based on 93 sqm NIA, able to accommodate a family of up to 5. It can adapt across demographics, bio-climatic environments, urban/suburban/rural locations and is configurable to multiple plotting requirements. The FIN HOUSE addresses key requirements of ‘modern family living’, alternative building methodologies, sustainability and Lifetime Homes design. The concept is based on sustainable materials, offsite fabrication, simple & innovative components and on site ease of assembly, allowing for streamline, low cost construction. Different house typologies can be configured based on this simple ‘modular system’.

Feasibility Study 2015
In collaboration with DP9
This scheme was designed for 130 luxury residential units at the fringes of a large Common in South London, offering a wide range of unit types with the availability of health support services. The proposed concept seeks to maximise the use of the site’s footprint through 6 Blocks zig-zagging along its depth whilst respecting broad easements along its side boundaries. This staggered arrangement of the blocks also forms pockets of amenity space which break the mass of the development organising smaller blocks around them. By stepping down in height, the proposed massing resolves existing urban issues of scale, alignment and permeability in planning terms. The pockets squares form buffer spaces distancing all blocks from surrounding buildings. At ground level, the landscaped open-air amenities organise treatment facilities, retail and F&B units around them – publicly accessible from the main street. Access toward an anchor High Street retailer from the back of the site could be brought forward to increase the site’s permeability.
